I just noticed something.
Someone is pretending to be Melissa Paternik. Someone has stolen her fine name and has been submitting posts to “Chick Shit For Chic Chicks” claiming to be her.
For one thing, I have to admit “Chick Shit For Chic Chicks” is an awesome title for a column. I think this started around 70 years ago with the title “Chick Stuff For Chic Chicks” but then the title changed around 40 years later to draw in the readers.
Melissa did disappear for awhile and then someone asked if they could take over the column and I let ’em. I think they only lasted a column are three because one day they just disappeared. No more columns, no more contact, no nothing.
Then the column just went on its merry way to nowhere. I don’t believe Melissa ever came back until, supposedly, now.
I do know that Melissa has high morals and there is no way she would be a dancer. Or a phone sex operator. Or get passed-out drunk. Or whatever else this supposed “Melissa” is now doing.
Unlike Jerome (hey, what happened to him and Bob’s basement?) I guess when Melissa wants to be hidden away, she stays hidden away. Unless she’s dead, then she’s REALLY hidden.
So, we all have to deal with all this fake news and now a fake Melissa? What is this world coming to?
I guess there’s no second thing.
