For some reason, I remember 10/6/95 quite vividly.
Well, there really is a reason why and I’m going to tell you about it with the following typed words!
Just another day at the office for Bob and I. We knew that a that a star had been discovered that had a planet orbiting around it. Of course everyone knows that this would be the second such star since the sun is the first. Until it burns out and most everyone gets really, really cold.
We just didn’t care about that. Big whoop, we thought. Instead, our mind was on the biggest movie of the year, the one that would break all box office records.
That’s right. I’m talking about “Strange Days”.
So, instead of writing about a stupid star, we went to the theater instead. We paid our $7 each and prepared to be amazed and totally blown away.
I don’t remember much about that movie. Think there was a scene at a rave or something like that.
What I do remember is that this movie grossed a little less than 8 million bucks and 14 of that came from us. Did we get a thanks or anything from Twentieth Century Fox? Nope.
I think we probably went to a bar and got drunk after the movie. Probably killed some brain cells by doing that and that’s probably why I don’t remember much about “Strange Days”.
But, 51 Pegasi was discovered that day.
Oh, and Lillian Fuchs died.
