The Journey To HR, Part 79!
The gasp I gasped wasn’t from surprise.
I was way beyond surprise at this point.
No, the gasp I gasped was a gasp of pain.
My left hand REALLY hurt.
I looked down and saw what was causing the pain.
A small ape was grasping my hand quite tightly.
I tried to shake my hand free, but he grasped even harder causing me to gasp yet again.
The ape pointed at the old man in the bed.
The old man pointed back.
The small ape began jumping up and down and a little bit sideways without letting go of my hand.
I decided to point at the old man with my free hand.
The old man raised his other arm and pointed at me.
Star Child Two flew around the room.
The old man raised one of his legs and it followed Star Child Two’s flight around the room.
“No….” said the old man.
“No?” I asked.
The old man nodded weakly as he continued to point with three of his four appendages.
“Fair enough.” I said.
The old man coughed and then closed his eyes as he continued with his pointing.
“Well,” I said. “That’s that I suppose?”
The ape released my hand and quickly lumbered to the bed.
He hopped onto the bed.
“This isn’t going to end well,” I said.
Star Child Two agreed from the other side of the room.
We looked away as the mushy sounds began.
