“Read the tag on your finger!” said the voice with some sort of authority.
So I did.
“DON’T PRESS THE BUTTON!” it read.
“Oh….” I said, or thought, to myself.
“You get it?” the voice asked.
I nodded.
Star Child Two came into view.
Now it looked like a baby in the womb.
But I knew it was Star Child Two because of the t-shirt it was wearing.
“I AM STAR CHILD TWO!” it read.
On the back of the t-shirt were three upside down nines in a sort of triangular shape.
I giggled.
It giggled.
Then we were both silent, even though we were both silent before.
I think.
Therefore, I be.
Anyway, Star Child Two circled the satellite a few times and then perched itself on my shoulder.
“Are you ready?” it asked.
“For what?”
“To press the button, silly!”
I pointed at the sticker on the satellite and then the tag on my finger.
“Ahh,” said Star Child Two. “But it doesn’t say that both of us can’t press the button at the same time.”
That sounded quite logical to me.
I reached out towards the button with my non-tagged index finger as Star Child Two did the same with one of its teeny tiny fingers.
We looked at each other.
We smiled.
Then we nodded at each other.
And pressed the button.
